GROUP 3 at best for sure BLUGOD and even looks as if he could make a good jumper later on.

Won easy .. topweight .. and no excuses for the others.

Yesterdays race just further demonstrated the wastage in STAKES MONEY at the top of the pyramid where a field like this was barely worth $250,000 [not $1m] relative to the fields just across the ditch.

But we will still see the "big boys" wanting to prop these races up after WINNIES money runs out because they have to justify the high price tags at KARAKA.

Speaking of high price tags ..

.. we had the "protected one" telling all & sundry that his good family friend GUY "Mister S " had a big spend up at KARAKA ..

.. as well ..

.. the RACING BOARDS CHAIRMAN, MICHAEL STIASSNY, bought a couple of high priced lots also .. which .. if my sources are accurate .. have been recorded in his wife's name.

That should ensure that the Stakes "pyramid" stays pretty much the same?

What happened to your chorus line of stakeholders rather than trough dwellers? (remember your childish rant at dazzer)
Guy "Mister S " has been racing horses for as long as i can recall. When he stops buying yearlings then it may be time to worry.
People don't put themselves up there, to be ridiculed by imbeciles like you, without being passionate about what theyre doing.

Lovely MANAROA.

I don't have a problem with our leaders being involved in racehorse ownership .. in fact .. it should almost be a pre-requisite for the job. Put your money where your mouth is.

However .. I would like to think that our leaders are appointed by proper democratic process .. and I do like to see them adhere to the objectives of the RACING ACT 2003 in considering the welfare of ALL industry stakeholders .. not just those who buy stallion potential colts to offer in a TRADE PROTECTED market [Courtesy of an NZTR enforcedTrade Barrier] or high priced lots which might need to have a sharper "pyramid" stakes distribution to justify the levels some are bought at.

Just as I wouldn't like to see our leaders abusing their positions in the current non-democratic environment in serving their own needs.

But worse still .. if it is true that MICHAEL STIASSNY has entered into THOROUGHBRED horse ownership [via his wife] but not into relative ownership in HARNESS or GREYHOUNDS then it very much compromises his position as CHAIRMAN of the RACING BOARD at a time when serious issues of GOVERNANCE restructuring are being considered where he needs to be fair and neutral in his tri-code role.

If I was a HARNESS person I would be very concerned in knowing about that investment having just endured a great measure of disrespect over the ONE RACING proposal.

So while on the one hand it is good to see GUY "Mister S " investing at KARAKA he must be reminded of his obligations to fairness that go with that .. while on the other hand .. MICHAEL STIASSNY's alleged investment will bring much angst to our tri-code environment especially when it comes to TAB distributions and the political issues [Governance etc] which are still to be sorted for our code.
